Sport Solution, given the growing demand for video arbitration in sport, took advantage of its presence in the Pan American and Para-Pan American Games in collaboration with ATOS to present its new equipment in this sector.
Faced with our previous field of work, athletics, Sport Solution technology has transcended in these games other sports, such as basketball and speed skating, both in teams and individually. Our new experience in these two sports, in addition, has allowed us to apply it to athletics with frank advantages over the previous system.
Our field of learning was mainly basketball where the instant requirement of the review of a play is a key element in the quality of service.
The Sport Solution service in basketball surprised the FIBA officials themselves, even tweeting their satisfaction with it, and congratulating us on the high level of quality provided.
The system was located next to the technical table, at one end of the field band that gave the field referees easy access to the system. In front of other systems currently used in which the referee must communicate with those responsible for broadcast through a headset with micro, since they are in the production truck, our service has a specialist in the sport that directly supports the Referee operating "on site" system. In this way the communication is more direct, and the referee may or may not require the experience of the operator in the interpretation of the images.
Regarding athletics, with the application of these new technologies, innovations are very important, and we hope to revolutionize the concept of Video Arbitration in the short term.
The new system allows the totally instantaneous review of any action, which is especially applicable to false starts, and contests (review of jumps and null throws by footsteps beyond the limits of the beating).
But this is not the most important thing if not that it will be the judges of contests and exits themselves who will be able to review these actions in the same competition area on video, and moreover, resolve the possible claims of the athletes there, and show them the videos.
The system also allows synchronized comparison of all images for the analysis of incidents in competition. And of course the complete recording of the competition, and recovery of any video of it.
It was the year 2005, and an idea began to emerge in athletics. if it were not necessary for a judge to choose at the foot of the pit the correct print to measure the athlete's result jump in Long and Triple jump? It was an idea that came from the Technical Committee of the IAAF, and some picked up the glove: SEIKO and two Spanish athletics judges.
Current popular race timing systems, or road races, are popularly referred to as chip timing. Its correct technical name is Timing Systems by Transponder, and not by chip.
